"Air India flight (AI-863), with 107 passengers and eight crew members,took off from IGI airport here at around 1.00 pm but after 45 minutes of flight, the pilot experienced some problem with aircraft's pressurisation system which resulted in fall in cabin pressure," an Air India official said.
The pilot immediately decided to divert the aircraft, an Airbus 321, to Ahmedabad airport, as the airline has a technical base there.
The plane landed safely, the official said, adding all the passengers are safe.
The airline accommodated the passengers in its next available flights from Ahmedabad. Air India has two flights in the evening from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
The plane is currently undergoing checks
